Due to my experience playing the Kingdom Hearts video games, I knew how this series was going to end, but I still felt the manga did such a great job telling the story (in fact, I think the manga for 358/2 Days might just be better than the game itself). This volume wraps up the 358/2 Days storyline, and I think it does such a great job of sticking to the story, but allowing so much room for emotion and growth. Roxas especially grows a tremendous amount in this one volume, and I also love seeing the depth of Xion and Axel's characters as well. I always found Roxas's story to be so tragic, a nobody (this is actually the term that is used) without a heart who isn't supposed to be able to feel anything, except Roxas feels so much. While he technically doesn't have a heart, it's impossible to believe because he suffers so much, especially in this volume, and yet he doesn't waver in his strengths and fights til the end. One of my favorite things about Kingdom Hearts (overall) is the huge focus on friendship. Sora, Riku, and Kairi (as well as Sora, Donald, and Goofy), Roxas, Axel, and Xion, and Ventus, Aqua, and Terra. These sets of friends are so incredible, and the series puts so much focus on nonromantic love, and it's awesome. Each set of friends cares SO much for each other, and I just love it.One thing that makes me incredibly sad over the entire Kingdom Hearts manga is the omission of Halloweentown as one of the worlds that they visit. This world, which is in most of the games, is one of my favorites in the game, so the omission is sad to me (but obviously not too sad as I still gave the series a 5 star review).Recommended for fans of the Kingdom Hearts series.
